About Alive and Kicking ...

Alive and Kicking: Laughter Never Gets Old is a musical comedy revue featuring "replace-the-lyrics" parody numbers and skits celebrating the humor and heart of senior life. The show had its premiere at the Moonlight Theatre, St. Charles, IL in July 2025. The production broke box office records, and the run was extended due to popular demand.

As a professional performer, Stephan's credits include Broadway, Off-Broadway, national tours, summer stock, regional theatres around the country, television, commercials, and film in the United States and several countries abroad. He made his Broadway debut in the chorus of HELLO, DOLLY starring Betty Grable, followed by playing Stanley in a national tour starring Dorothy Lamour. Other Broadway credits include Assistant to the Choreographer for a revival of the comedy BROADWAY, starring Teri Garr and Chris Sarandon, and he was Assistant.

Choreographer, Dance Captain, and Understudy to the juvenile lead and an original Reveler in the Tom Jones/Harvey Schmidt cult musical, CELEBRATION. After touring in the International Company of A CHORUS LINE directed by Michael Bennett, he made his last Broadway appearance at the Schubert theatre when A CHORUS LINE broke the record for longest-running musical. His years as a performer and Director/Choreographer have allowed him the privilege of working with celebrities such as Sally Ann Howes, Michael Allinson, Tony Martin, Cyd Charisse, Gordon MacRae, Gretchen Wyler, Paul Lynde, Chita Rivera, Anna Maria Alberghetti, and Dick Shawn.

Joe Mantegna, Andre DeShields, Christopher Lloyd, John Cullum, Debbie Allen, David Naughton, Georgio Tozzi, Lucie Arnaz, Tommy Tune, John Goodman, Nathan Lane, and Kevin Kline. For his work as a Director/Choreographer, he has received awards for "Best Production," "Best Musical Production," "Best Director," and "Best Choreography."

In addition to the hundreds of stage productions, his work as a playwright/satirist/lyricist has been seen across the US and in other countries. These works include: A KISS FROM ALEXANDER; A DICKENS OF A CAROL; A WOMAN ONSTAGE; MEETING MR. RIGHT; IMAGINE THAT; WHEN JENNY COMES MARCHING HOME AGAIN and FOR LOVE OF WILL. He was a contributing writer to a frequent comedy show, LAUGHING MATTERS and OLDER THAN DIRT, for Florida Studio Theatre. For several years, he wrote, directed, and performed in the highly successful satirical/topical revues LICENSE TO BASH and PRIME RIBBING. His production of ALIVE AND KICKING: LAUGHTER NEVER GETS OLD recently closed after an extended run and packed houses at the Moonlight Cabaret Theatre in St. Charles, IL.
